About our Streaming Service
How does the Streaming Service work?
Ideas That Work offers a streaming video subscription service. All of our videos can be watched immediately from any web browser, anywhere, any time on your computer or mobile device. You also get unlimited views during your subscription period and can share the video within your organisation with your team/students via a private link. You can also order DVDs through the site and have them shipped to you.
NOTE: The price of the streaming video subscriptions has been based on fair and reasonable use by you as the Subscriber and other Authorised Users in your institution or organisation.
What types of streaming services are offered?
24 hour standard subscription
- Unlimited views during your 24 hour subscription period.
NOTE: This is a good option if you want to preview a video before purchase. This subscription is for single person use only and cannot be shared with others.
12 month standard subscription
- Watch at any time from any web browser
- Unlimited views during your subscription period
- Share with your team/students via private link.
NOTE: The link can be shared as many times as you want with your staff by copying and pasting it and sending it to them via email. The link will expire in 30 days from the day it was generated. Each time you generate a link it lasts for 30 days so if any staff still need access to a video then send them a new link.
12 months PRO subscription
- All the benefits of the standard subscription plus the added feature of being able to embed the video into your learning management system, intranet or any other private website.
NOTE: Only available to password-protected websites.
Is there a difference in the price of a standard 12 months video subscription and the DVD version?
No, they are the same price.
How do I order?
Go to www.ideasthatwork.com.au and find the video you want, click on “Purchase a Subscription”.
If you are a new streaming video customer you will be asked to fill in your details and password to set up your subscription account.
Then select the subscription type (24 Hours, 12 months standard or PRO) and pay with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard). The price is calculated in $AUD.
Once you have set up your streaming video account you can purchase additional titles without having to fill in your contact details again by just signing in using the email and password you nominated when setting up your account.
Each video and subscription has to be selected and paid for by credit card as a separate transaction.
You will be able to view all your videos in the My Videos section in your streaming video account and you will also receive an email confirmation/Tax Invoice.
Can I get another copy of my Tax Invoice for a video I subscribed to last year?

See our our Terms and Conditions for more information on the use of the videos.
Can I give my students access to the videos so they can watch them on their own computer or mobile device?
Yes, you can share the video within your institution or organisation with Authorized Users via a private link which expires 30 days after you have created the link. If the link expires you can create a new one which will be valid for another 30 days.
Authorised Users are the currently enrolled students, faculty, staff, affiliated researchers, distance learners, and visiting scholars at your educational institution or organisation involved in educational activities. Authorised Users who you share the link with are NOT permitted pass on or share this link with anyone else.
See our our Terms and Conditions for more information on the use of the videos.
What are the system requirements?
Video streaming requires no more than a modern internet browser. We support Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer. Whichever browser you prefer, please use the most up-to-date version available to ensure that everything on the site works smoothly. You can check your browser(s) version here – https://whatbrowser.org/
What is the streaming video quality?
Video playback requires your computer to “stream” the video files. This is where a file is sent from our servers to your computer bit-by-bit. The file is temporary, meaning that you are not downloading a copy to keep.
Videos are streamed using ‘adaptive streaming’ technology, where the player will automatically choose the highest quality possible based on the viewer’s network connection, graphics processing ability, and other factors.
What happens at the end of a 12 month subscription?
You will receive email reminders to renew 60 days, 30 days and 7 days before your subscription expires. If your email details change during your subscription period please update it on your subscription account page.
If you do not renew before the end of your 12 month subscription any users with a private link created under your subscription and anyone attempting to view any embedded videos or URLs from this subscription will no longer be able to view the video.
How do I renew a subscription to a video?
60 days before the of your 12 month subscription a “Renew My Subscription” button will be activated next to details of your video subscription. The renewed subscription period will begin the day following the end of the current subscription period.
So for example, if you have a PRO Subscription then renewing before the end of the subscription period will mean that any embedded videos will continue to work.
If you have a 24 hour subscription you can renew your subscription at anytime during the 24 hours. You cannot upgrade a 24 hour subscription to a 24 hour PRO subscription – to have access to the embed video feature you need to renew your subscription to a 12 month PRO subscription.
Can I upgrade my 12 Month Standard Subscription to a 12 Month PRO Subscription?
Yes, at anytime during your 12 Month Standard Subscription you will be able to upgrade to a 12 Month PRO Subscription. The price for the upgrade will be worked out automatically on a pro rata basis which depends on on how long your Standard Subscription has to run.
Do I have access to any usage report?
Yes you can see a report on the number of times the video has been played each month and a running total of all plays. This information can be found under each video you have purchased by clicking on the Statistics tab.
Do the streaming videos include public performance rights?
All films purchased through the Ideas That Work website include public performance rights, allowing an institution/organisation to exhibit a legally-acquired copy, so long as:
- No admission fee/donation is collected.
- The screening takes place at the purchasing venue itself.
- The primary audience for the screening is members of the purchasing institution/organisation (for example, students, staff, trainers) and the screening IS NOT advertised or promoted to the general public.
